“Be not afraid for your work is needed now. Let your lights shine brightly where you are without worry about where it’s going. Be big, beautiful you and the rest will fall into place. Be not concerned about the material realm for that, too, will fall into place. Simply open your hearts more fully to God and receive his gifts. This is a huge time of big shifts and it is ok that you are scared. Don’t let that stop you, though. As much as you can, surrender into the experience of oneness with Source. Of knowing your true nature and that is of God, with God, as God. Beloved children, I am always with you as you. This is your Divine birthright and nothing can come in the way of that but the ego. Quiet the mind, quiet the mind, quiet the mind. And you shall know peace like never before. Amen and so it is.”

Following very direct guidance, I go to a store I would never normally hit at the Manhattan Mall. I try on a coat that I think is not “the one” but the sales guy is really friendly so I indulge him.

It’s actually really cute on so I ask him how much. I decide to think about it and say I might be back later in the week, that I’m just staying across the street.

“On vacation?” he asks.

But I tell him “No, at the Hope Lodge, helping out a woman with cancer this week.”

Turns out, his younger brother has Leukemia and is headed to Sloan for a transplant next month. He might need a place to stay while he recovers. I told him that the Lodge is free if they need it and a great resource for families. At which point he says, “Thanks and if you come back, I’ll knock 20% off the coat.” A real win-win!

So grateful for the divine GPS!

It’s good to be writing again as I’ve been away from my “desk” for a while. Always happy to follow the flow, I know I needed the break to reconnect with my family, my wholeness and Mother Nature in all her glow-ry. Here I am renewed, refreshed and ready to shine my love-light once more!

Today, thanks to some wild dreams, I woke up with an intense longing for a lost love. When this happens, it’s easy to get stuck in the mind, wondering what that was all about and why person X popped back up. I find it more helpful, though, to explore the feelings and invite a deeper healing.

Here are some steps to help you move through the process:

1) Grab your notebook or dream journal and record what happened in the scene. Anything stand out for you? Get as many details as you can.

2) Recall any feelings you had in the dream. Sad? Hurt? Excited? Intrigued? Aroused? Remember, no one but you will read this so get it up and out.

3) Grab a comfy seat on the floor and sit with the most intense feeling. Ask it where it lives in your body. Follow it with your attention then say, “what do I need to know?”

4) Let your body lead you and move with the emotion. You may writhe, flip over, curl up or cry. As much as you can, surrender to the release and let go.

5) After you’ve given yourself time to feel and heal, write down any observations and ahas. These are your gifts for the taking.

Loneliness, which I was feeling, is such a sad and disempowering place where we’re “incomplete” without the other. A small shift in perspective can – and does – make all the difference. By taking responsibility for my choice to work when I could have connected with my man, I see how perfect my presence is now! And here I am, working again, shining a little more light into our world. Divine!

Over and over, we’re being invited to go with the flow, to say “Yes” to whatever’s happening and know that Spirit is always at work in our lives. Seems like a perfect message for us all just in time for Valentine’s Day. Whether we’re single, married, have a hot date or spending the night at home alone, our presence is a gift unto itself!

Let us embrace our glow and leave loneliness behind!

My sweet husband, who I love and adore, doesn’t always have it easy. We had “the fight” again last night, the one that starts off about men and women and ends up with me defending my choice not to get another office job.

Born in the year of the Ox, he does an amazing job supporting this Pig while I go about my light-working business. But he’s not always happy about it and I feel like a loser for not bringing home more bacon! Yet! (always insert the yet!)

My gut reaction and “solution” is to threaten to run off to some other place (LA, Woodstock, Rhinebeck, you get the picture), rent a cheap room, get a day job in a health food store and support myself again. While I sound like a rebellious teenager, it’s just how I’m wired.

I know how to leap into a new life, how to crumple up the piece of paper and start over from scratch. I can manifest move magic like nobody’s business and have done it in Seattle, New York and Berlin. But, this, this stay where you are and create incremental change is very foreign to me and feels a little bit like jail. And I’m ready to break out!

Lucky for me, I had a call with my dear friend and coach, Elisa Balabram, this morning. She helped me see that getting our lingering issue out on the table again is progress and reminded me that I can support Tani with his dreams and live life on my terms. For example, I can offer to work so many hours per week marketing and promoting both his art and his new commercial painting business. It’s true – when money’s not such  a pressing issue for him, there’s no problem with what I’m making. A divine solution indeed and one I know will make him happy.

Elisa also encouraged me to ask the Universe for help with my own abundance issues. Urging me to not quit right before my miracle occurs, she invited me to ask, “How can I make changes and attract more abundance in my life?” I wrote this down and made it my mantra for the day!

I bounced off to Trade Fair for blizzard food, excited about my new action-items. Not finding good fruit there, I schlepped further on to Associated in the freezing rain. That was a big bust too. Same thing with the fruit stand across the street. At Bravo, finally, I found 5 Golden Delicious for my man and heard Bread calling to me.

I cried in line and knew I couldn’t wait for us both to be home!

On that topic, I’ve incorporated a few tricks from my Karmic Yogi shifts at Reflections. I’m trading my time once a week for free unlimited classes and it’s expanding more than my spine.

Here are 3 tips to increase your peace:

1. Buy a big box (or bag) of tea lights and light them as darkness descends on your day. It’s a simple and oh so effective way to brighten your space and soul!
2. Play soft songs and invite soothing sounds into your background. When you move to the music, doing dishes, laundry and cooking become part of your daily dance.
3. Visit the living things in your life. Talk to your plants, rub your hands on their leaves and cut off any dead parts. They, like your dreams, will flourish, grow and glow!

Here’s a trifecta of goodness for you:

1) Lee Harris leads us off with an invitation to feel through our remaining fears and say “Yes” to our alone time. Watch and expand along!

2) This guide by Lena Stevens (Power Path Seminars and School of Shamanism) predicts an “unpredictable” (ha!) month ahead. Giving both a summary and week by week insights, Lena writes, “You will need to be very very flexible and very very present to navigate the energy this month, as it will have a tendency to be squirrelly, shifty and emotional, bringing unexpected experiences, reactions, changes and opportunities. You will need to let go of your need to know, your need for control, your need to be right, your need to hold on to the past, any old dreams you had for the future, all of your disappointments, grudges and limited small thinking.” Is that all?
